Cole’s Notes: First Steps

Every story has a beginning; every journey, a first step. My “first step” with acting happened when I was just four years old. My parents had taken me to see a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. As soon as the show started, I was astounded by this world of fairies and fantasy. By intermission, I was in love. My mother took me to the bathroom, where I proceeded to dance in front of the mirror, saying, “I’m going to be a fairy! I’m going to live with the fairies!” My mother explained to me that the people we were watching weren’t real fairies, but actors. I turned to her and declared, “Well then I’m going to be an actor.”

Now, I’m not only do I get to be an actor, but a writer too. I hope (and think) four-year-old me would be proud!
